The Woolly Story

More wool. Less Plastic.™

It all started with merino undies

Our Co-founders, Mike, Chris and James wanted to make more affordable Merino Boxers to keep their outdoor pursuits comfortable, and daily life a little more sustainable.

What started as a side-hustle, gradually grew into a full-blown team in a re-purposed garage, (previously a glass-blowing-studio) turned office.

Now we live and breathe all-things Merino, driven by our mantra "More Wool, Less Plastic.™" We hear it from our customers every day: life is better in merino wool. And when you feel great, life has no limits.

Our team

Seattle, WA

The Beginning

We are Seattleites who love the outdoors and love designing, testing and wearing merino. Everyday. We see and feel the negative impact synthetic garments have on our environment and health. We also recognize the higher price tag of natural alternatives like wool. So we work with trusted partners around the world to keep costs down, and stoke for wool high.

Merino for all

Synthetic materials have become the traditional fabric for undies and activewear. We started Woolly because believe wool is a better everyday next-to-skin fabric. Whether it's for your next adventure, workout or commute. Backcountry to boardroom, nothing matches the performance and versatility of merino.

Focusing on basics, Woolly aims to deliver all of the upsides of merino while competing head-on with synthetics, dollar for dollar.

Performance without the plastic

We once believed that all plastic was recycled. but it isn't. It's destroying our home and our health. The addiction to plastic, like petroleum, has serious environmental consequences. To keep plastic out of our oceans, we must reduce the amount of plastic we use.

That's why we love merino as a foundation fabric to develop better basics. You get all the performance of synthetics, without the plastic, and help reduce the impact on our world.
